My name is Lisa Young.  I have lived in Whitley Bay since 2013 with my son who is now 20. I have been a self employed cleaner for over 10 years, looking after airbnbs and people’s homes. When I saw the I love North Shields posts, earlier in the year on fb, I immediately wanted to work with them. I found their work ethics and their desire to help and bring the community together exciting, friendly, important and wanted to be part of it all.  I love helping others,  to help build up their confidence in general and I personally think creativity plays a huge part on bringing people together and it’s an escape to be free with our ideas and can be very therapeutic at the same time.  Another reason is that not everyone has access to social media, so being part of creating a magazine I found very appealing and can reach all. A fun, knowledgeable and creative project which let’s the community know what’s going on on their doorstep, all while letting the creatives behind it run wild in their profession and me personally,  have experienced different fields in photography as I normally take scenic,  macro, street, and art photography are a few I’m interested in, but since working with ILNS,  I have tried journalism, portrait and event photography and it’s opened up more opportunities and helped my confidence grow immensely.  I’ve met some ambitious and very talented people but the two that stand out for me were sabrina Kennedy and Marcus. Sabrinas journey was so captivating to me and I loved Marcus’s work and his style of his designs.
