As we welcome Vic and her innovative studio, we sat down with her to learn more about the experience of launching Sacred Hair, the vision behind it, and her hopes for its future in North Shields.
Can you tell us about you and what inspired you to start your own studio here?
It feels incredible to finally open Sacred Hair after my extensive journey in the hairdressing world. With 27 years of experience, including global session work, I felt it was time to settle and provide a more personal touch. North Shields is my home, and opening here was a natural choice to offer my clients a bespoke experience they deserve.
You’ve had an impressive career managing high-end salons and specializing in creative color. What drives your passion for these aspects of hairdressing?
Creative color has always been my forte. I love the artistry involved in transforming someone’s look and seeing their confidence soar. Managing salons allowed me to hone my skills, but I craved the intimacy of a smaller, more personal setting. Sacred Hair allows me to focus entirely on my clients’ individual needs and preferences.
Finding the perfect space is crucial. What drew you to Studio One above The Two Pennies, and how does the location complement your vision for Sacred Hair?
It took nearly a year of searching, but Studio One above The Two Pennies immediately felt right. The space exudes creativity and tranquility, ideal for offering a serene experience away from the hustle. It’s centrally located, making it convenient for both loyal clients and new guests to experience Sacred Hair.
Opening a new studio is exciting but also comes with challenges. What have been some highlights and hurdles along the way, and how have you overcome them?
The highlight has definitely been bringing my vision to life and seeing the positive reactions from my clients. Of course, navigating the logistics of starting a new business in a pandemic posed challenges, but the support from the community and my family has been invaluable.

How do you envision Sacred Hair contributing to the local community and the creative scene in North Shields?
I’m excited to contribute to North Shields’ vibrant creative community. Beyond exceptional hair services, Sacred Hair aims to foster connections and inspire confidence. I want every client to feel heard, valued, and beautiful when they leave my studio.
Lastly, what are your hopes and aspirations for Sacred Hair Studio moving forward?
My goal is to continue building relationships with clients who appreciate personalized care and creative expertise. I envision Sacred Hair Studio as a sanctuary where guests can unwind and leave feeling empowered by their new look. I’m eager to grow alongside North Shields and be a part of its evolving beauty landscape!
