Collaborations
ILNS actively collaborates with community initiatives, including Project Nile Street, Elevation Wall Mural Project, and Live Well With Cancer community hub to name a few, contributing creative storytelling resulting in strong community engagement and inclusion.
Community Impact
Since launching in May 2024, what began as a grassroots passion project with a simple mission “To shine a light on the people, places, and everyday stories that make our coastal town so special”, I Love North Shields has grown into a trusted hyper local platform.
Here are some of our recent highlights:
- Strong community engagement and local conversation with 1,500+ reactions and comments on social media
- Recognised as a community champion in shortlist for North Tyneside Business Awards in the “Heart of the Community” category
- Publication of a special North Shields 800th-anniversary edition: 800 pages of unique content made by and for the community, celebrating North Shields’s history through archival storytelling, art, and print
- Regular host of creative and participatory events including well-attended photo walks and editorial gatherings that build skills, confidence, and connection
- Featured in community documentary films in collaboration with Sira Studio
