North Shields 800: Blessing of the Fleet
**NS800 or SN800? That is the Question!**
North Shields turns 800—and Terry McDermott of the North Shields Fishermen’s Heritage Project is determined to make the celebration one to remember. As plans gear up for a June 20th community festival featuring music, schoolchildren, and a grand boat parade, Terry also sheds light on why the town’s true festival name is SN800, not NS800. With heritage, heart, and a bit of historical correction, this event is set to honour the town’s proud fishing legacy in style.
