Project Nile Street’s litter pickers transform town
The Nile Street Project continued to thrive in early August with its first community litter pick in North Shields. What started with just a few volunteers quickly grew into a strong group effort, clearing rubbish, weeds and hundreds of cigarette ends from the street. The visible transformation drew positive comments from passers-by. Regular litter picks are planned as part of restoring the area, and residents are encouraged to get involved by contacting the project team for future events.
