We are delighted to welcome Flea Circus back to the I Love North Shields Vintage Market on Sunday 25 October.
Flea Circus opened at the top of Ouseburn in 2018 and has since grown from 17 sellers into a collective of 60 independent makers, artists, creatives and vintage sellers.
We asked Jim to tell us a little more about Flea Circus, what they love about vintage and what they will be bringing to North Shields.
HOW DID FLEA CIRCUS BEGIN?
“We recognised that there was a gap in the local market for a vintage interiors shop, so we opened the doors to Flea Circus at the top of Ouseburn in 2018.
“We have grown from 17 sellers to a collective of 60 local independent makers, artists, creatives and sellers.”
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT VINTAGE?
“Always the hunt!
“But also the quality of the design and materials from the 60s and 70s. Finding that special piece of mid-century design that we’ve never had before is a huge buzz.”
WHAT CAN PEOPLE EXPECT TO FIND ON YOUR STALL?
“We’ll be bringing vintage and contemporary interior pieces from many of our 60 sellers.
“Baz will be there with a selection of curated antiques and curios, while Gail will be showcasing her handmade lampshades, bags, badges and more.
“We’ll also have lightboxes and plants, jewellery and prints, vinyl, mid-century design, pots and ceramics.”
WHAT CAN YOU NEVER RESIST?
“With five furniture sellers, seven vintage clothing sellers, various lighting enthusiasts and tens of other treasure hunters among us, it would be impossible to pinpoint one particular piece, to be honest!”
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO AT THE MARKET?
“We’re just excited to be back. We missed the last one, and it’s such a brilliant event.
“I think the music line-up looks amazing this time, so we’ll be sure to pop upstairs to hear the tunes during the afternoon.”

More than 50 independent traders will fill two floors with vintage clothing, furniture, records, antiques, collectables, jewellery, art, homeware and plenty of unexpected finds.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
