I Love North Shields is collaborating with North East music and events organisation LLIVELY Music to bring more live music, emerging artists and acoustic sessions to the I Love North Shields Vintage Market at Salt Market Social.
The collaboration begins at the Autumn Vintage Market on Sunday 25 October 2026, where more than 50 independent vintage traders will come together across two floors on North Shields Fish Quay.
But this isn’t simply about adding a musician to the corner of a market.
Together, I Love North Shields and LLIVELY Music are developing a programme that brings independent traders, musicians, creatives and audiences together in the same space, while creating new opportunities for musicians from across the North East to perform and be discovered.
It’s part of a wider idea we’ve been developing around the Vintage Markets:
Common Ground — where we meet.
What is the I Love North Shields and LLIVELY Music collaboration?
The collaboration brings together two independent organisations with different audiences and different areas of experience.
I Love North Shields has developed a recurring Vintage Market at Salt Market Social on North Shields Fish Quay, bringing together more than 50 independent traders alongside food, drinks, creativity and a growing social programme.
LLIVELY Music brings something we don’t have: Laura’s knowledge of the grassroots music industry, musicians, live events, artist development and promotion.
Rather than I Love North Shields simply trying to find musicians ourselves, we’re working with somebody who already understands that world.
Together, we’re developing:
30-minute live performance slots for North East musicians; acoustic and stripped-back performances; informal jam sessions; opportunities for artists to sell music and merchandise; introductions to new audiences through both platforms; and potentially later headline performances as the programme develops.
The aim is to make live music part of the identity of the Vintage Market rather than an occasional add-on.
Who is Laura Rosierse and what is LLIVELY Music?
Behind LLIVELY Music is Laura Rosierse, whose own journey into the music industry began in the Netherlands.

Founded by Laura in 2017, LLIVELY Music is now based in the North East of England, but Laura’s music story started long before she arrived here.
She describes growing up around records and music, with Record Store Day celebrated at home and travelling Dutch grassroots festival Popronde a regular fixture.
Laura went on to study at the Herman Brood Academie in Utrecht, graduating in 2019.
Her early industry experience included working in the marketing department of Amsterdam’s Melkweg, followed by internships with [PIAS] Holland and Newcastle grassroots label Kaleidoscope Music.
That Newcastle connection eventually became permanent, with Laura moving to the city.
Today, her work reaches across live music, festivals, artist promotion, PR and events.
Laura is the North East representative for national promoter This Feeling, works with Fever’s Candlelight Concerts and We Call It Ballet, co-runs Box Office and Artist Accreditation at Solfest, and has worked across festivals including Stockton Calling, A Stone’s Throw Festival, Vestrock in the Netherlands, Coast Fest, Marrapalooza, NOVUM Festival, Lindisfarne Festival and Whitby’s Musicport Festival.
She has also worked with international artists on press campaigns, events and tours, hosted music-industry masterclasses and webinars, helps organise Aelius Alternative Festival and runs monthly LLIVELY Showcases.
In November 2025, LLIVELY Music joined the Association of Independent Promoters.
Her work isn’t limited to live events either.
LLIVELY Music has supported artists from the UK and Netherlands, while Laura manages online marketing for Dutch grassroots music label King Forward Records and its roster.
Before all of that, Laura created her own music platform, Music For The Misfits, to help bands reach new audiences. She is also an editor at When The Horn Blows and writes for NARC and CLUNK Magazine.
There’s a fairly obvious thread running through Laura’s story:
helping independent musicians find audiences.
And that’s where our two worlds suddenly make a lot of sense together.

From the Netherlands to North Shields
There’s also a more personal connection.
Laura is Dutch. And so am I.
Our lives have taken very different routes, but somehow we’ve both ended up making the North East home and building independent platforms here.
Laura has done it through music.
I’ve done it through I Love North Shields.
And now those two paths have crossed on North Shields Fish Quay.
There is something rather lovely about two Dutchies sitting at Salt Market Social talking about how we can create opportunities for North East musicians, traders and creatives.
It wasn’t why we decided to collaborate.
But it does make the story that little bit more special.

Why bring live music into a vintage market?
Because the Vintage Market has become about considerably more than shopping.
Vintage remains at its heart.
But increasingly we’re interested in what happens around the stalls.
People meet friends. They eat. They have a drink. They talk to traders. They discover businesses they didn’t know existed. They stay and listen to music.
So instead of treating music as background entertainment, we’re asking:
What happens if the musicians become part of the market too?
Someone might come looking for a 1970s jacket and discover a North East singer-songwriter.
Someone who comes to hear a friend perform might discover an independent vintage dealer.
A photographer might meet their next subject.
A musician might find an old record.
A trader and an artist might start another collaboration we haven’t even thought of.
Those are the connections we’re interested in creating.

Opportunities for North East musicians
We’re opening the programme to musicians from across the North East, including solo artists, duos and acoustic or stripped-back acts.
The initial opportunity is a 30-minute performance at Salt Market Social.
We also want to be transparent about how this works.
The showcase slots are currently unpaid.
We don’t want to disguise that with vague promises about “exposure”. Musicians’ work has value.
Instead, we’re looking at how we can make the opportunity genuinely worthwhile in other ways.
Performers can have a tip jar or pay-what-you-feel pot, keeping everything they receive.
They can also sell their own merchandise — whether that’s vinyl, CDs, cassettes, T-shirts, prints or other work connected with their music.
And, importantly, I Love North Shields and LLIVELY Music can introduce the participating musicians to our respective audiences.
We’ll create artist introductions and collaborative social content where possible rather than simply putting a performer’s name at the bottom of an event poster.
We want people to know who they’re listening to.
Who will be playing at the October Vintage Market?
The first programme for the Autumn Vintage Market on 25 October is now beginning to take shape.
Conversations have started with musicians with the final line-up still being developed.
We’ll introduce confirmed performers individually as October approaches, sharing more about their music and where people can find them.
Acoustic jam sessions at Salt Market Social
We’re also exploring something much less formal: acoustic jam sessions.
The idea is to create somewhere musicians can simply turn up, play, listen, meet other musicians and potentially join in.
It isn’t intended to be an audition or competition.
You don’t need to be signed.
You don’t need thousands of followers.
And you certainly don’t need to arrive thinking you’re about to headline Glastonbury.
Bring an instrument.
Play something.
Meet somebody.
See what happens.
Over time, we’d love this to become one of those things people simply know happens at the I Love North Shields Vintage Market.

Common Ground — where we meet
All of this comes back to the idea we’ve started calling Common Ground.
The Vintage Market brings together more than 50 independent traders.
But around them are musicians, photographers, artists, collectors, food businesses and hundreds of people coming through the doors.
Those people don’t need to belong to one organised “community”.
They simply need somewhere their paths can cross.
For us, that’s Common Ground.
It’s not another organisation or section of the market.
It’s the bit that happens between everything else.
And music feels like an incredibly natural way of creating it.
Independent supporting independent
There’s another reason this collaboration feels right.
LLIVELY Music is independent. I Love North Shields is independent. The musicians are independent. Our traders are predominantly independent businesses.
We’re each bringing something different.
Laura brings her knowledge of grassroots music, performers, events and promotion.
I Love North Shields brings its audience, storytelling, trader network and the Vintage Market itself.
Salt Market Social gives those worlds somewhere physical to meet.
Nobody has to become somebody else’s organisation.
We can simply collaborate on something we’re both interested in creating.
Sometimes that’s enough.
What’s next for live music at the I Love North Shields Vintage Market?
The first collaboration takes place at the I Love North Shields Autumn Vintage Market on Sunday 25 October 2026.
The October market is now fully booked for traders, with more than 50 independent sellers taking part across two floors.
We’ll announce the confirmed music programme in the run-up to the event.
The collaboration will then continue to develop through our Coastal Edition on 29 November, Festive Edition on 20 December and the I Love North Shields Vintage Market programme throughout 2027.
Musicians interested in future performance opportunities are welcome to get in touch.
And everybody else?
Come for the vintage.
Stay for the music.
Eat something.
Have a drink.
Meet somebody.
You never know who you’ll discover.
Common Ground — where we meet.
