A new specialist electronic music label, Kryptic Communications, is due to launch in North Shields in October.

Kryptic Communications will be focusing on vinyl releases, the first of which will be an Acid House 12-inch from The Kernel Method, the dance music project of North Shields artist and label owner Dan Smiles.

Previously signed as a songwriter to MCA/Universal, Dan will be working on the release with North Shields vinyl manufacturing company The Jungle Record Press, with the first record due in the middle of October.

Having recently played the Cluny 2 and the Little Buildings in Newcastle, The Kernel Method will also be launching the label with a live performance at Laurels, Whitley Bay, on Saturday, 18 October.
