Project Nile Street are on a journey to revitalize our beloved Nile Street. Having harbored a vision since returning to my roots in North Shields, this initiative aims to restore Nile Street to its former glory, adorned with proud shop fronts and bustling residential doorways.
Project Nile Street is a collaborative endeavor, inviting the active participation of local businesses, residents, creatives, and sponsors. Together, we aspire to transform Nile Street into a safer, brighter thoroughfare, catering to commuters, local shoppers, and inhabitants alike.
Central to our mission is the reduction of antisocial behavior, fostering an inviting atmosphere that beckons visitors from far and wide. Utilizing an array of creative interventions such as planters, hanging pots, and lamp post decorations, we aim to beautify the street while simultaneously deterring negative activities.
Through the medium of murals adorning shutters, walls, and doorways, we seek to tell the stories of our community, celebrating its vibrancy and heritage.
Thoughtfully designed signage will not only guide but also engage and educate, fostering a sense of pride amongst residents and visitors alike.
We’re seeking support from a diverse range of individuals and businesses. Plant enthusiasts, painters, local artists, awning specialists, jet washer cleaners, bunting creators, and sign makers are all integral to our vision. If you have skills to contribute or resources to offer, we invite you to join us on this journey.
