This spring, I Love North Shields is launching something new — a vintage market rooted in everyday heritage, local stories and creative reuse.
I Love North Shields Vintage Market | Handpicked. Reimagined. is a carefully curated event celebrating local vintage, antiques and objects with a past, alongside music, making, style and nostalgia that shaped everyday life. This is about slowing down, browsing with curiosity, and reconnecting with things that were made to last.
Expect a mix of handpicked local vintage and antiques, vintage books, local history and maritime finds, vinyl and northern soul culture, workwear and heritage clothing, jewellery, hats and accessories, and one-off discoveries chosen for their character, usefulness and story. From postcards and cookbooks to fisherman knits, utility jackets, ceramics, records and statement pieces — every stallholder is selected with care.
Alongside the stalls, the market will feature vintage-inspired experiences throughout the day. Expect classic hairstyles, flash-style vintage tattoos, a nostalgic photo booth and prop corner, and creative activity including live demonstrations, a North Shields–style sewing bee, and hands-on making and mending sessions celebrating repair, reuse and practical skills.
Music will run through the event, rooted in vinyl, northern soul and timeless classics, creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where people can browse, chat, dance a little and linger longer.
At its heart, this market is about bringing the past into the present — celebrating everyday objects, local culture and creative skills, while imagining how they can still have a place in our lives today.
Stallholders we’re looking for:
We’re inviting curated vintage, antique, heritage and creative stallholders, especially those with a strong sense of storytelling and nostalgia.
This includes:
- Local vintage and small-scale antique dealers
- Vintage clothing, workwear, jewellery, hats and accessories
- Vintage & second-hand books, zines, magazines and paper ephemera
- Vinyl, cassettes, music memorabilia and northern soul culture
- Vintage homewares, ceramics, kitchenalia and everyday objects
- Upcycled and creatively reimagined vintage pieces
- Maritime, local and regional heritage specialists
- Makers offering repair, restoration or live demonstrations
- Creative experiences such as tattooists, hairstylists, sewing and mending
We’re especially keen to hear from stallholders who value nostalgia, reuse, accessibility and local connection. A mix of affordable finds and standout pieces is encouraged.
