Match Report| SAWFC v NUWFC – 29/3/26 Barclays Women’s Super League 2

Pre-match I went into the new Sheepfolds Stables bar between the end of the new footbridge and the SoL (a nice bar to be fair) to meet up with friends. Hellie and Varley (both former NUWFC players) were there as well as a lot of Newcastle fans, I took a photo of the inside to show both sets of fans mixing well but struggled to find many in red & white in attendance!

Match Report: Newcastle Women v Crystal Palace

The third match in a week brought a second home game and pitted the Lasses against Crystal Palace who were third before the kick-off with Newcastle in fourth. With four games left (after this one) and Charlton well clear at the top it’s a four-way fight between Birmingham, Crystal Palace, Bristol City and Newcastle United for the one remaining automatic promotion spot and the play-off place (against the bottom WSL side, which is looking like it’s going to be Leicester).

A ROMAN INVASION: FILMING ‘LITTLE CAESAR’ IN NORTH SHIELDS

Back in November, Manchester indie singer Seb Lowe and his band visited North Shields for the first time, spending two days in town whilst they filmed their latest music video. The project was being produced by local company Crew Gal, alongside students from their ‘Get on Set’ video production course. As a former Crew Gal student, I was fortunate enough to be hired as ‘artist liaison’ on this video, which in simple terms means looking after the band!

Match Report: NUWFC v BCWFC – 18/3/26 Barclays Women’s Super League 2

After a frustrating match against Sheffield for all concerned (see previous report), our game in hand was against Birmingham City who were second before kick-off (the Lasses were fifth) occupying the second automatic promotion spot. In the reverse fixture the Lasses went down 4-2, so not only was a positive result important for the league position, they would want to make up for that poor performance at St Andrews.  Another team in black & white were playing at the same time as the Lasses; the Not Lasses in the knock-out stages of the Champions League. In the pub beforehand fans had their phones and tablets out watching that game, dreaming of the time when there’re two Newcastle teams competing regularly in that competition. No more mention of that other match from me…  Mannion, Kelly and Hayles had all played for the Blues before, none of the opposition players have worn the black & white.
