I Love North Shields is proud to officially welcome Seeta Halder as the organisation’s new Finance, Risk & Compliance Director.

Many readers may already recognise Seeta from the deeply personal story she shared through ILNS last year, reflecting on her recovery journey following a life-changing brain haemorrhage and the role community played in rebuilding her confidence and wellbeing.

What began as volunteering and quietly supporting the platform during her recovery has naturally grown into a much bigger role within the organisation.

Seeta brings with her an exceptional professional background across Data, Analytics, Insight, Risk and Digital Transformation, with extensive experience spanning financial services, the public sector and consultancy. She has led and delivered major data and analytical transformation strategies across a range of organisations, helping improve decision making, digital enablement and long-term strategic planning.

An experienced senior leader, Seeta is passionate about building strong, diverse and effective teams, believing in leadership through trust, collaboration and empowerment. Alongside her technical expertise, she has a proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and strategically to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.

Her experience includes Credit Risk, Data Strategy, Analytics, Predictive Modelling, Reporting, Business Intelligence, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Machine Learning, AI and Data Management.

Seeta is also:

  • A member of Women in Data
  • PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner qualified
  • Holds a Certificate in Counselling Skills (COSCA)

As ILNS continues to evolve as a community-powered organisation, Seeta’s role will help strengthen governance, financial oversight, risk management and sustainable growth across the platform.

Speaking about volunteering with ILNS previously, Seeta described it as “a lifeline”, helping her reconnect with people, community and confidence during a difficult period in her recovery.

Her appointment reflects the continued growth of ILNS and the importance of building strong foundations for the future while remaining rooted in community, inclusion and real local stories.

Founder and Editor-in-Chief Simmie Harper said:

“Seeta has already become such an important part of ILNS behind the scenes. Her experience, leadership and values align so naturally with what we are trying to build. But more than that, she genuinely cares about people and community. We are incredibly proud to welcome her onto the director team.”

Welcome to the team, Seeta.
