Our Pop-Up Gallery at Low Quay Brew Co opened its doors to a full room of familiar faces and plenty of new ones too — all brought together by our love for North Shields and photography.

Where the photowalks began
The I Love North Shields Photowalks started as a simple idea: get people outside, cameras in hand, and encourage them to really see their own town. No pressure. No experience needed. Whether you’re snapping on your phone, shooting film, or carrying a bag of lenses — you’re welcome.
Since then, the walks have grown into a regular thing. Early starts, sea air, strong coffee, and loads of laughs. People who didn’t know each other a few hours earlier ending up swapping stories, tips, and favourite spots by the end.
Photowalk 2: The walls edition
This exhibition is the result of Photowalk 2, where the group headed out to capture North Shields’ murals, street art, and painted walls. Big colour, bold faces, hidden corners — the town’s personality splashed across brick and concrete.
Seeing all those shots together on the walls at Low Quay was unreal. The same murals photographed in a hundred different ways. Close-ups on peeling paint, wide shots of people passing by, light hitting just right, and the odd seagull doing something unhinged in the background.
If you missed the launch night, don’t worry — the gallery is on display for two weeks, until the middle of December, so you’ve got time to pop in, grab a drink and take a wander.
A venue that gets it
Huge love to Low Quay Brew Co for opening their doors and backing the idea. They brew their own beer on site, welcome food traders, host events, and run the taproom as a real community space. The music was bang on, the staff were legends, and the place had a buzz all night long.
And you absolutely have to see the Christmas tree — instant festive mood as soon as you walk through the door.

The food
Big shoutout to HAKE Foods for keeping everyone fuelled. Their pop-up van went down a storm, and for good reason. They also do pop-ups, private events and kitchen takeovers — if you’re planning something and want food people actually remember, go find @hakefoods.
