Created by local residents Simmie and Peter Harper, The Farlan reflects their passion for breathing new life into characterful properties. After spending many years renovating holiday homes in France, they have brought that same care and attention to detail back to North Shields.
The apartment takes its name from the Farlan Box, once used by North Shields fishwives to carry herring from the Fish Quay. It’s a small tribute to the town’s proud maritime heritage and the hardworking people who helped shape its story.
Ideally located just a short walk from the historic Fish Quay, guests can enjoy independent cafés, restaurants, traditional pubs, galleries and local shops, while Tynemouth, Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and Newcastle city centre are all within easy reach by Metro or ferry.
Sleeping up to three guests, The Farlan has been thoughtfully designed to feel like a home away from home.
